Polymarket API reference / Data API v2
GET/v2/live-volume

Get live volume for an event

Cumulative one-side (taker) volume per market. Pass `?event_id=` as a comma-separated list of integer event ids (aliases `id` / `eventId`); every market under those events is returned, `taker_volume` descending, with `taker_volume_total` their sum. A list spans events. Unlike the feeds this is not paginated; `data` is the object with no `pagination`.

Things to know

Every v2 response wraps its payload in a data field. Paginated reads return an opaque cursor in pagination and do not accept offset. Under load the API answers 429 with a Retry-After header.

Parameters

NameInTypeRequiredDescription
event_idquerystringnullyesEvent id(s), comma-separated (at most 20 distinct values). Required. `event_id` is the unified key across v2 (same as the feeds); `id` and `eventId` are accepted aliases.

event_id is listed as optional in Polymarket's OpenAPI spec, but the API returns 400 without it (checked 2026-10-04).

Example

curl -X GET "https://data-api.polymarket.com/v2/live-volume?event_id=<event_id>"

200Per-market taker volume for the requested event(s), plus taker_volume_total
400Missing or unparseable event_id, or more than 20 distinct event ids

500Internal server error
503Timed out (the request deadline, the datastore statement timeout, or the connection pool's acquire budget) or a serving dependency is unavailable; retry after `Retry-After`
